As the Director of EA Governance, you will lead the establishment and execution of enterprise architecture governance frameworks, processes, and standards. You will oversee a specialized team responsible for EA toolset management, governance operations, compliance assurance, and metrics & reporting while fostering a culture of architectural excellence and innovation.
Enterprise Architecture Governance Leadership
- Establish and maintain comprehensive EA governance frameworks and processes
- Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB) meetings and EA Forum read-outs
- Develop and implement governance control gates across the enterprise
- Track technical debt, approve or extend technical debt waivers, work with system owners and the architects to eliminate the technical debt
- Review and approve architecture exceptions and waivers
- Ensure alignment between EA practices and business objectives
- Drive the maturity of EA practices across the organization
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to a specialized team of professionals
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and excellence
- Develop and implement team member growth and development plans
- Build and maintain high-performing teams through effective recruitment and retention
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between EA team and business units
Governance Operations and Standards
- Oversee the development and maintenance of EA toolset and modeling standards
- Guide the implementation and adoption of EA tools and repositories
- Establish and maintain architecture quality metrics and standards
- Direct the audit program for architecture compliance
- Create the Standards Information Base and assign technical owners and roadmaps for each technology in the TRM
- Monitor adherence to acceptable technology standards
- Ensure alignment with enterprise security standards
Strategic Communications and Change Management
- Lead the development and execution of EA communication strategies
- Guide the Outreach Manager in developing effective stakeholder engagement plans
- Drive change management initiatives related to EA practices
- Foster stakeholder relationships across business and technology domains
- Develop and maintain executive-level reporting on EA governance metrics
Quality and Compliance Oversight
- Direct architecture compliance audit programs
- Oversee the Compliance Lead's efforts in maintaining quality standards
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Develop and maintain quality assurance frameworks
- Monitor and report on compliance metrics and trends
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 12+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in EA governance
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Strong background in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman)
- Experience with EA tools and repositories
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Track record of implementing successful governance programs
- Strong familiarity with ArchiMate 3 EA modeling language (required)
