





About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Development Platform Architect (Principal Engineer) who is responsible for Solution Architecture and Governance across CI/CD Orchestration, Development Enablement, Quality and Test Engineering and Application Integration.
The CTO Architecture team focuses on driving product direction through the creation of solution architectures and archetypes. This role is accountable for application portfolio management and lifecycle management of CTO applications as well as leading cross functional teams in creating business value solutions and influencing executives as well as engineers. This role will work in a challenging, fast paced, and highly technical environment Responsibilities include:
In this role, you will:
- Acts as a subject matter expert to the organization for development platform architecture.
- Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence developer experience for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking.
- Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions.
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization.
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership.
- Development and Maintenance of architecture solutions such as reference architecture, white paper, product strategy, product to services roadmap.
- Advocate and define architectural vision for Wells Fargo's environment.
- Design, configure and implement a fully integrated development portal for a single store front for CTO products.
- Provides leadership and mentoring to Architects and engineers to grow architecture talent.
- Lead strategic planning and architectural planning for infrastructure technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 7+ years of infrastructure architecture experience with development platforms and modernizing technology infrastructure landscape
- 3+ years of experience researching new technologies, performing proof-of-concepts, and recommending solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Related information technology development operations certifications, e.g. Azure, GCP, AWS
- Proven track record in enabling developer tooling and capabilities to advance developer portals, CI/CD orchestration, QTE frameworks and application integration.
- Demonstrable experience in Data Center migration and related tooling.
- Hands on knowledge with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitHub co-pilot, Harness CD, Hyper Execute, Octane, Blaze Meter, Artifactory, and Black Duck, Backstage IDP and Apigee GW integration.
- Hands on experience with tooling to enable large scale data center migrations to Azure, GCP, AWS and Private Cloud Kubernetes such as OpenShift Container Platform.
- Familiar and hands-on experience with infrastructure as code via CI/CD and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Packer.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working in an agile, product-oriented structure.
- Ability to interact with all levels with the organization.
- Strong comprehension within the network, compute, storage and database domains.
