Description:

OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:
The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Clinician is a time limited, grant funded position. Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the IOP Clinician provides direct services to children and families, allowing easy access, timely response, and flexibility to deliver services that are home and community based in a trauma-informed, systems-based, coordinated, cross sector, family-oriented approach.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.0 DIRECT CLINICAL SERVICES:
Provides assessment and counseling to children, families, and/or groups with behavioral, emotional mental health, and/or substance use needs. IOP services will consist of up to five days a week, three to four hours per day. Services will primarily be provided in the IOP setting however, they will also be provided in the home, school, or office as needed. Facilitates referrals and communication between agencies for other services on behalf of the child. Attends team meetings to plan and monitor services.

The clinician may provide screening, assessment, engagement, treatment planning, collaboration, referral, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based counseling in order to provide effective care.

Provide information and referrals and be able to connect individuals to the appropriate resources, including individuals with co-occurring mental health and SUD services.

2.0 CASE MANAGEMENT / SERVICE COORDINATION:
Provides on-going supportive and/or case management functions in accordance with the problems, needs, and the strategies identified within the service plan in order to assist clients to achieve the stated goals and objectives.

Makes home visits to support families, as needed. Facilitated communication between agencies on behalf of the child. Attends team meetings to plan and monitor services. Provides case management, and/or coordinates with the assigned care coordinator.

3.0 CONSULTATION / EDUCATIONAL SERVICES:
Provides consultation services to teachers, school personnel, and community partners as needed. Consultation can be educational or evaluative. Also provides consultation and support to staff.

4.0 CLINICAL RECORD KEEPING:
Responsible for all required written documentation, that adhere to all UCS recordkeeping requirements for all cases. Completes time sheets and other paperwork on a daily basis. All documentation should adhere to all funded regulatory requirements, to include Medicaid/Medicare and third-party standards.

5.0 ADMINISTRATIVE:
Collaborate and attends all necessary UCS, SVMC and school meetings to promote coordination and communication. Meet regularly with assigned supervisor. Complete as required agency trainings.

* In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in a relevant human service field with some experience providing counseling services to families and children. Must have an interest in providing Trauma Based Intervention. Licensure or on track for licensure in Vermont as a Social Worker, Psychologist, or Mental Health Professional required.

Be knowledgeable in the use of, or willing to be trained in, clinical practices informed by evidence-based models including:
* Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
* Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for ages 8-13
* Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC), including use of sensory tools
* Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
* Zero Suicide

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Valid Driver's License
