This role is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation, and/or administration of the company’s benefits program(s) regarding plan, options, policy features, enrollment, and other requirements meant to attract and retain employees as well as plan financials, data, and/or regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the surveying of market data to determine company’s competitive position in employee benefits. Conducts research and analysis of industry trends, employee surveys, and/or workplace best practices in order to design benefits packages that are competitive, meet employee needs, and support organizational goals.
- Provides assistance in reviewing cost and usage rates of existing benefit programs to assess actual and perceived value. Ensures competitive and cost-effective benefits policies and practices. May provide IRS and DOL reporting, prepare quarterly accounting adjustments, and/or manage data related to cost and funding analyses.
- Assists in communications related to benefits, open enrollment, and/or wellness and health education initiatives.
- Maintains records related to benefits plan participation or contributions. Ensures offerings comply with all applicable laws and regulations. May participate in annual audits of plans and works with internal and/or external auditors on related requests.
- Conducts orientation or enrollment meetings, advises on eligibility, costs, and coverage, and provides information for use in memos, presentations, or other benefits communications.
- Manages day-to-day activities around various benefits programs. Answers questions from employees regarding benefits offerings, eligibility, and claims and assists employees in understanding the organizations benefits offerings and acts as a liaison between the organization and third-party benefits providers.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent), required.
- Up to 2 years of related experience, required.
- 2+ years of related experience, preferred.
- Foundational industry knowledge and an understanding of best practices and processes relating to benefits design, plan operations, behavior drivers, funding alternatives, risk assumption, and tax and legal implications.
- Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate across the organization.
- Customer services skills with the ability to build rapport and support others.
- Negotiation skills with the ability to influence internally across teams and externally with vendors.
- Time and project management with the ability to handle multiple priorities with competing deadlines, while making impactful business decisions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to travel less than 5% of the time.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process, as required.
- Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses, as needed.
