Position Summary
Perform various accounting activities and provide support to the Assistant Director, Director and CFO, including but not limited to, general ledger maintenance and ad hoc reporting while assisting in all areas of the Accounting Department as needed or instructed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and process accounting entries using 3E accounting system, and maintain necessary documentation.
- Assist with general ledger closings and monthly ledger processing.
- Assist in the preparation of financial information and reports to support internal and external reporting requirements and presentations.
- Research accounting questions and reports results.
- Prepare various quarterly and yearly surveys.
- Prepare monthly financial presentation slides for CFO.
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education: . Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience: Entry level. No prior experience required. General ledger account reconciliation experience preferred. Experience in a law firm or other service environment a plus.
Skills:
Able to work independently and prioritize workload. Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with all organizational levels. Able to work well in multiple-priority, deadline-driven environment. Strong PC skills and knowledge of MS Office; advanced knowledge of Excel. Experience with 3E or other accounting application strongly preferred. Able to work in fast-paced work environment.

Equipment to be Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, etc.

- Ability to utilize technology, including computers and telecommunication devices.
- Ability to read and interpret written documents, computer screens and other visual displays accurately.
- Ability to hear and understand verbal communication, including conversations and instructions, is important for effective collaboration and communication.
Working Conditions: You will be required to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor.
Pay Ranges: This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith's pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
