Job Summary
The Report Migration Specialist is tasked with migrating existing reports from the WebFOCUS platform to SAP Business Objects. The individual in this position will be required to have a strong understanding of SAP Business Objects, SQL programming, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
The Report Migration Specialist will deliver:
- Fully functional Business Objects reports, as assigned, migrated from WebFOCUS.
- Comprehensive documentation encapsulating report specifications, design differences, and contributions and feedback to improve the Business Objects best practices guide.
The Report Migration Specialist will report directly to the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, and take direction from the Project Lead. This position will participate in weekly meetings to update on progress and address any issues. This is a 1-year term ended position.
Responsibilities*
Report Conversion:
- Translate WebFOCUS reports into Business Objects reports ensuring functionality and data accuracy.
- Utilize Business Objects features to improve and streamline report design where possible.
- Test reports for data quality, performance, and usability.
- Document the new reports, steps taken to migrate the reports, and highlight any changes from the original specifications.
Validation and Quality Assurance:
- Work with end-users to validate migrated reports against original WebFOCUS output.
- Ensure that all reports meet the defined business requirements and data quality standards.
- Make adjustments based on user feedback and test again until reports are validated.
Project Reporting:
- Provide regular status updates to the supervisor and migration team.
- Keep track of their work in TeamDynamix project plan
- Follow best practices guide.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Information Sciences, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field; or combination of education or experience
- Proven experience SAP Business Objects report development
- Strong knowledge of data structures, SQL, and database management
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Familiarity with organizational data landscape and business processes
- Familiarity with higher education data and reporting
Desired Qualifications*
- Master?s Degree in Computer Information Sciences, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field, or combination of education or experience
- Report Development in WebFOCUS
- Application migration experience
Work Locations
This position is primarily remote. The Report Migration Specialist may be required to meet on campus periodically (up to once a month) for working meetings or collaboration.

This Statement of Work is subject to the approval of the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief Strategy Officer, and it is contingent upon the availability of funding and resources necessary for the completion of the work outlined.
