Full Job Description
Seeking an innovative and highly motivated team player to maintain, troubleshoot, and install electrical equipment and devices for the Lake Gaston and Northwest River Water Treatment Plants and their associated remote site operations.
Utility Electronics Technician II should possess knowledge of both DC and three phase AC power systems and be able to read and interpret associated electrical diagrams and schematics.
Utility Electronics Technician II should be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair various types of electrical equipment such as programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, three phase motors, and various motor control devices.
Applicant should be able to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electric valve actuators and associated control devices.
Applicant should possess the skills to calibrate, replace, clean and/or repair various process instrumentation such as flowmeters, level probes, pressure transducers, and ultrasonic devices.
Utility Electronics Technician II should possess analytical thinking to identify problems or suggest operational changes.
Applicant will assist with the maintenance and repair of pumps and other plumbing and mechanical equipment.
Applicant should be proficient with operating computers and related software to produce and manage detailed records and files of all work performed.
Applicant should be able to walk, stand, reach, bend, crawl, climb ladders, and work from elevated heights.
Note:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of, and/or outside of, their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
