This work will be in support of a Management Information System (MIS). An IT enterprise logistical tool that interfaces with all systems. Managing thousands of ppl through this portal. 1K databases.
Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:
Systems are looking at the architecture and design. Architecture is just a piece. Have multiple disciplines that you have to build. Have to design circuitry, has wiring, mechanical engineering, embedded software. Systems Engineering looks at all of these things together and distributes all of the features to the design teams for integration.
You’ve got Insite, all of the things Insite is talking to, how everything is connected. These resources usually come from electrical or mechanical engineering background and are prevalent in the government contracting world.
Analogy: More looking at a forest, rather than trees. Software Engineers develop the trees. Supporting Insight and everything it has to interface with. What connects to what, Where the data is lying. Building requirements based on asks of the customers. Design and Architecture is deconstructed by software engineers. Overseeing how things communicate?, requirements?, how end users access it?
