Job Description:

The Head of Workplace Retention is responsible for leading a team of 16 or more Retention Executives (REs) and a Retention Team Leader (s) who are leading retention strategy. Developing proactive contract extension activities, providing valid, competitive information, and developing timely, accurate sales proposals. The Retention Team supports outsourced services solutions.

The Purpose of Your Role

Develop sales skills with team including strategy development, customer presentations, proposal development, contract negotiations, segment-specific action plans, reporting, and client team sales mentoring. Responsible for developing product expertise across the entire Retention Team. Partner closely with Relationship Management Segment Heads and Team Leads to ensure the highest quality retention efforts for Workplace clients.

Experience We're Looking For

  • Approximately 10-15 years of multifaceted Business Development/Retention experience including people management coupled with an undergraduate degree (Bachelor's degree) or Master's degree.
  • Demonstrate experience in successfully building alliances and influencing key decision-makers (of all levels), competitive drive and determination, strong written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, leading sales processes, and people development skills.
  • Selling outsourced service solutions, market awareness of industry, client and financial competence, and an understanding of benefits administration operations are also required.
  • Series 7, 63, and 24 are required within 90 days of hire.
  • Encouraging continuous learning and development, a growth mindset and increased skill proficiency; shares relevant insights, knowledge, and developments across Workplace Investing.

Skills You Bring

  • Develop strategy and goals for Retention Team that produce year-over-year retention goals.
  • Provide leadership across internal support organizations to ensure cross-functional accountability for client retention.
  • Provide leadership and support for all client re-pricing, renewal, and driven retention activity of the team. Collaborate with internal business partners in these retention activities.
  • Coach and mentor to provide continued career development and evaluate performance.
  • Establish relationships with desired feeder organizations (internal and external) as well as our staffing organization to produce and maintain a talent pipeline with the most promising talent for the organization.
  • Report to Workplace Relationship Management(RM) Leader and be an active participant on RM Leadership Team collaborating with Segment Heads to continually improve Fidelity's value proposition for clients and RM associates.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement challenging current processes to make them more efficient and value-based for business partners and Retention Team.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with national consulting firms representing Fidelity points of view for negotiation, education and ongoing support of each of our processes.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

Position involves extensive and ongoing Sourcing Advisor contact along with internal senior-level client decision makers (Head of RM, Segment Heads, RM Team Leads, and Pricing Leaders) placing a premium on executive presence, consultative sales skills, and people development activities. Additional leadership duties include associate development, performance evaluation, compensation planning, and hiring.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs.
