Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Sr Specialist, Product Quality in Suwanee, GA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Quality Sr Specialist is responsible for managing equipment rework activity and implementing equipment firmware update projects as necessary. Primary obligations include conceiving, development, and evaluating action plans for conducting mass rewrites and product rework. Secondarily, position requires knowledge transfer of product rework activity to internal employees and external customers. Position is responsible to maintain accounting records, reports, and project files as needed for senior management review.
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage factory information exchange website for new versions of all product firmware.
- Coordinate posting of updates when new firmware versions are formally released.
- Coordinate and facilitate with internal departments when equipment rewrite and general equipment rework projects are necessary.
- Coordinate action plans with internal employees, distributors, customers when mass field firmware rewrite & rework projects are necessary. Includes creating and implementing plans to accommodate said projects.
- Create technical and accounting reports on product rework and firmware rewrite projects.
- Create well-articulated release notes when necessary.
- Be the subject matter expert and point of contact for all firmware & rework for all METUS products.
- Responsible for factory communication and reporting relating to product rework and firmware rewrite projects.
- Serves as responsible party to receive, organize, and schedule returned product analysis.
- Manages International shipments of products and corresponding supporting documentation organization.
- Generates department standard operating procedures (SOPs) & maintains them.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement (LEAN) activities to improve organizational & department efficiencies.
- Manages collection, sorting, organization, and submission of all factory billing documents.
- Willing to travel up to 30% for various Company meetings and training both domestically and possibly internationally
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree in a technical discipline or a minimum of 10 years technical experience in the HVAC field preferred
- Proven expertise on all METUS products sold in the North American & International markets.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting complex electronic and refrigerant flow systems.
- HVAC industry related certifications a plus.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs with specialty in Excel preferred.
- Highly enthusiastic person capable of building and maintaining relationships through comprehensive technical problems.
- Must be an excellent communicator of highly advanced technical concepts & data.
- Knowledge of specialized troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, voltage and analyzers, frequency counters, power quality/power demand analyzers, sound level measuring devices, infrared/thermal imaging equipment, and capable of teaching others how to use.
- Ability to translate complex thoughts and ideas and communicate them in an easy-to-understand form

- Responsible for crafting complex reports to senior management relative to field quality and quality assurance activity.
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $93,500 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
