Manages the development and execution of assigned commodity strategies that supports the company's supply chain to maximize value, quality and delivery performance. Evaluates and monitors market conditions to maintain lowest total cost and inventory levels. Evaluates, recommends and manages ongoing relationships with suppliers. Applies a variety of procurement discipline practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as lead for Sourcing and negotiating contract pricing and terms for assigned commodities. Packaging and Sourcing Finished Goods including but not limited to Corrugated Linerboard, Pallets, Films, Unit Covers, Electronics, Lighting, Adhesives, and Tapes.
  • Partner with internal stake holders & budget owners to develop and execute continuous improvement plan.
  • Analyze global, regional & local market information to understand upstream cost drivers and the effect on market pricing, including supply and demand dynamics. Generate and maintain various top management flash reports and monthly market overview reports on key commodities.
  • Conduct global market research to identify potential new suppliers and products with the goal of identifying new and redundant sources of supply based on competitiveness, capability and business needs. Lead cross functional team to qualify.
  • Conduct supplier survey and scorecard measurement process with key suppliers – driving continuous improvement and project savings opportunities.
  • Complete Strategic Sourcing Events for assigned commodities and services focusing on Total Cost. Includes but not limited to negotiating price, lead time, Payment Terms, Rebates and delivery. 
  • Award contracts for assigned commodities and monitor purchases to ensure commitments are made and rebates are maximized. Identify and take advantage of spot buy opportunities as needed. 
  • Comply with all SOX requirements and approved processes and procedures. 
  • Maintain professional & productive relations with suppliers and internal customers. 
  • Manage/update pricing and adjustments for all key materials and develop means to share information to all parties. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Purchasing policies and procedures by creating templates and laying out processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering or related field required. MBA preferred.

Professional Experience:  Minimum 5+ years’ experience with strategic sourcing in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in sourcing Packaging materials is required. 
  • ISM-CPSM and APICs-CPIM preferred. Experience implementing JDE systems a plus. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of front and back end of systems. 
  • Proven success researching data utilizing internal and external sources. 
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and developing procurement tools and reports. 
  • Comprehension of market dynamics and ability to translate the information into meaningful and intelligible outputs. 
  • Strong Negotiation Skills. 
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, MS Office Proficiency, MRP, JDE. 
  • Travel time 30% or more.

Success Measures:

  • Sixty (60) – Ninety (90) days:
    • Proficient knowledge of categories and spend under responsibility
    • Understand cost improvement goals and objectives for the business
    • Knowledge of AZEK product lines and offerings
    • Visit with key “A” suppliers and start building relationships
  • Six (6) Months:
    • Create 24-month horizon view of category strategy and align strategies with leadership
    • Identify VA/VE and other continuous improvement opportunities to meet current year cost improvement targets
    • Conduct scorecard business reviews with top suppliers
    • Meet with all “B” tier suppliers and address critical tail-end suppliers for opportunities/risks
  • One (1) year:
    • Driving projects cross-functionally to execution and capturing savings on continuous improvement and cost improvement projects
    • Meet individual objectives for the year including savings targets
    • Create pipeline of projects to meet next year’s goals and objectives
    • Implement impactful process improvements for the business

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $125,500 in our lowest market up to $154,500 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
