Job Summary
The Cardiac Procedures Unit is currently seeking a full-time Paramedic (Sheath Puller) to join its established team. This position is located in the Cardiovascular Center.

Responsibilities*
Duties include but are not limited to: direct patient care including monitoring and removal of various and arterial sheaths, transporting patients, vital signs, assisting patients in and out of bed, and answering call lights. Other duties include EKG's, Accuchecks, cleaning equipment, stocking of supplies, performing daily QA on testing equipment and emergency equipment.
Required Qualifications*
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years recent (within one year) experience as a paramedic
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by progressive responsibility in ED / pre-hospital setting.
- Excellent clinical skills including but not limited to IV insertion, veni-puncture, and arrhythmia recognition.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure of emergency situations.
- Current Basic Life Support Provider verification.
- Advanced cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS).
- 1-2 years of recent experience as a Nurse Aide/ICU Tech in a hospital setting.
- Vocational training in Health Care of College level courses in Health Care.
- Understands and demonstrates the core concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC), including: Respect and Dignity, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration.
Desired Qualifications*
- Certification as an EMT, CNA or MA preferred.
Work Schedule
36 hours (3 12hr shifts), full-time. Monday through Friday. Day shift hours; 10a-1030p
