We are currently looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Research Technician - Flow Cytometry to work in the Moody Foundation Flow Cytometry Core facility under the direction of Dr. Sean Morrison at the Children's Medical Center Research Institute (CRI), UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. The Morrison lab's goal is to better understand the mechanisms that regulate stem cell function and how cancer cells hijack these mechanisms to enable tumor formation. A better understanding of these mechanisms offers the potential for new regenerative medicine and cancer therapies. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive professional who will support the lab's research in a specialized capacity with all aspects of flow cytometry, specimen analysis, core facility utilization scheduling, and training. This would be an excellent role for a scientifically-minded professional with strong flow cytometry experience who enjoys helping others build their technical skills and who is looking for a long-term stable position with a top-notch academic research facility.

What You'll Do:
Establish, maintain, and lead complex operations and analyses of specimens in a research environment.
Operate flow cytometers, including sorters and analyzers, maintain equipment, and establish quality control procedures.
Work closely with research scientists and assist in the training of new users.
Scheduling, record, and track utilization for the facility.
What you bring:
Education
A bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related discipline is required.
Experience
A minimum of 1 years of flow cytometry experience is required.
Previous experience with training others on techniques, creating quality control procedures, and equipment maintenance is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong initiative, self-motivation, and capacity for creative problem solving.

Strong organizational skills, customer service skills, and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
Proficient computer skills (PC and/or Mac, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).

Compensation Range
$41,600.00 (minimum) - $52,037.34 (midpoint) - $67,600.00 (maximum)Pay Type:
AnnualHHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
