JOB SUMMARYThis role will focus primarily on leading the coordination, development, delivery and implementation of financial planning and advice. This role will directly lead and supervise one team within the Advice and Planning Group: Strategy and Execution, Consulting, Centralized or Regional Team, GenSpring UHNW Advice and Planning. The role will have a strong focus on leading and managing their team(s) to deliver advice to clients and prospects driving positive client outcomes, business goals, and enhancing client retention. This role will also influence the delivery of advice and thought leadership in the field and across Wealth. Success is measured against the ability to positively impact clients, the Truist Wealth organization and Truist overall through effective advice and planning engagements and more effective advisors and teammates involved in advice and planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISOR/MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will directly lead and supervise one sub-team within the Advice and Planning Group: Strategy and Execution, Consulting, Centralized or Regional Team, GenSpring UHNW Advice and Planning. They are required to self-manage their teams and projects, work with others on the team, other leaders, and are accountable to line managers for meeting commitments, budget, and business goals.
Must be knowledgeable in financial planning, related planning platforms, and industry trends. Must be adept at developing and leading conceptual strategies, delivering implementation solutions, while still providing "hands on" execution support. Must be able to manage ambiguity, conflicting priorities, and perform well in stressful environments while working independently or on a team.
1. Leading Expertise: Effectively lead the application of planning across all relevant Elements of Wealth, delivery of actionable advice for clients and prospects, advice and planning industry trends, behavior and change management, teammate and advisor development. Advanced level of knowledge and expertise for responsible teams and areas of the Advice and Planning Group.
2. Leading Impact: Lead and empower teammates, clients and prospects to take action and confidently make decisions to make progress towards their financial and business goals. Effectively lead and develop teammates and direct reports in the effective communication and implementation of recommended courses of actions relevant to span of control. Positively impact clients and prospects progress towards goals while enabling Truist Wealth and Truist to achieve business targets.
3. Leading Advice Process Excellence and Integration: Proven ability to effectively execute the financial planning and advice process: identify and prioritize goals and objectives, gather data, analyze current course and potential alternative courses of action, developing and presenting recommendations, partnering for implementation and monitoring progress. Demonstrate strong understanding of the advice and planning process, how it relates to, is implemented, and is explained to teammates, clients, and prospects. Ability to integrate the Truist Wealth process and team responsibilities seamlessly into advice and planning model and relevant practice management models across multiple teams.
4. Leading Relevance and Networking: Actively lead engagement of team(s) to become valuable thought leaders and relevant partners within supported markets. Lead and develop strong working relationships with internal leaders, partners and external COI's (attorneys, accountants, and other advisors) that work with Truist Wealth segments to assure quality engagements and increased business results. Represent Truist in civic, community, government, banking and professional groups.
5. Leading Coaching/Team Development: Proactively engage in the growth and development of teammates within the Advice and Planning Group and across Truist Wealth. Expand the effectiveness, scale, competency and confidence of teammates, advisors and relevant business partners.
6. Productivity/Efficiency/Technology Leadership: Maintain assigned team's efficient, effective, prioritized workload and workflow. Communicate current and ongoing status of work as well as results of those efforts using appropriate systems. Promote the effective use of technology platforms to achieve client and business objectives.
7. Process Adherence: Execute responsibilities and supervise team in compliance with all internal policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and legal guidelines.
8. Other: Assume additional responsibilities as requested by Truist and Truist Wealth leadership and suggest enhancement ideas or other process improvements that align with the Truist Purpose, Mission and Values.
Required Qualifications:

* College degree
* One or more financial planning related, industry recognized, designations or certifications
* Advanced communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
* Advanced leadership and interpersonal skills, including strong professional presence, effective at building relationships with colleagues across multiple business lines, coaching and development, to ensure success of business initiatives.
* Ability to function as member of a team and comfortably interact with Fortune 500 managers and executives
* Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities, multi-tasking
Preferred Qualifications:
* 3+ years of leadership experience in the financial industry, financial planning, or planning related practice management and coaching
* Advanced level knowledge of financial planning, practice management, consultative selling, or performance coaching techniques and their application in advice and financial planning.
* One or more advanced advice and planning related, industry recognized, designations or certifications
* Uses a consultative approach to solve client, prospect and business partner needs, is able to develop and present appropriate recommendations and consistently provides solutions for performance issues and goals.
* Strong applicable business knowledge and experience, both strategic and tactical
* Assist management in the analysis and evaluation of program effectiveness.
* Ability to work independently and proactively with quantitative and qualitative problem solving skills
* Knowledge of performance technology/consulting.
* Knowledge of client service techniques and sales concepts sufficient to drive business results.
* Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
