Legend Biotech is seeking R&D Laboratory Asset Management and Operations Support as part of the Global Operations team based in Philadelphia, PA.
Role Overview
This position will be responsible for overseeing calibration and maintenance support of R&D laboratory and facility equipment. This individual will partner R&D to create and manage maintenance schedules. They will require technical expertise and troubleshooting ability to support the equipment within a BSL2 R&D laboratory. This role will focus on supporting laboratory equipment for reliability, calibration and PM completion, troubleshooting, scheduling, and maintaining spare parts. This role will be the primary contact between Legend Biotech and the building manager for day to day facility operations. This role will oversee the implementation and compliance with EHS programs for all activities. Occasionally operational activities will require support outside of the typically work schedule, which could include working in other shifts and providing on call support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage R&D laboratory equipment throughout its entire lifecycle including induction, reliability, Calibration and PM completion, troubleshooting, scheduling, spare parts, and compliance to continually support site needs
- Coordinate maintenance and calibration activities with equipment manufacturers and 3rd party vendors
- Laison with R&D operations to schedule equipment services and repairs
- Perform on-site equipment calibration and maintenance
- Act as the primary point of contact with the building manager
- Primary facilities contact for all environmental alarms
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance to all applicable codes and regulations as required. Obtains and keeps current all required licensing and certifications associated with the job
- Possesses experience and training in calibration and certification of laboratory equipment
- Utilize good documentation practices (GDP) for all work performed on the CMMS system work orders
- Edit and update procedures and work plans
- Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot, plan work and anticipate potential problems and take appropriate actions
- Working knowledge of building automation systems and environmental monitoring systems
- Ensures regulatory and job training remains current by promptly completing required training
- Support tracking and achievement of departmental goals and objectives including metric improvement targets. Support continuous improvement activities
- Ensure site compliance with all local, state and federal regulations including and equivalent to Federal Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) as applicable (TSA) Transportation Security Administration
- Oversee regulated waste collection and disposal
- Execute and champion EHS programs and initiatives
- Ensure sitewide compliance with EHS programs
- Available for other duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent required with relevant experience.
- Trade / Technical School Certification or Certification in Craft required.
- Military equivalent of Trade / Technical School certification.
- Minimally 5+ years of experience in a Pharmaceutical/Biotech laboratory or manufacturing environment
- Experience working in laboratories or cleanrooms
- Experience with CMMS or similar maintenance management system is required
- Experience preforming maintenance/calibration on laboratory equipment
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written) and strong communication skills
- Possesses experience in maintenance of all mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration.

- Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- EHS and regulatory standards (e.g. EPA, OSHA and DEP)
- Operation of Building Automation Systems, Environmental Monitoring Systems, process maintenance, instrumentation, automation.
