JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Provider Support Assistanttoperform administrative responsibilities in support of one or more physician(s) and/or advanced provider(s).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prep treatment summaries and medical notes for inclusion in electronic medical record.
  • Triaging patient telephone requests and relaying accurate messages to medical staff
  • Request and upload from outside Hospitals Radiation Treatment Planning PDFs and DICOMS into ARIA
  • Request and submit from outside hospitals imaging scans/reports and pathology slides
  • Scan outside documents into electronic medical records, communicate with referring physicians, review quality assurance on patients in ARIA.
  • Provide administrative assistance to 4-5 physicians.
  • Maintain and Oversee the physician's daily calendar.
  • Distribute mail and miscellaneous documents to appropriate physician.
  • Review weekly QA for patients under treatment which consist of checking EPIC to be sure each patient has a Consult note, Sim note, Tx planning note, Consent, Pathology.
  • Assist Clinical Director of the department with all administrative needs for himself and 7 APPs. Compile schedule for APP clinic coverage.
  • Assist with medical school students rotation to include scheduling clinic sessions, preparing study booklets, administering/proctoring exams
  • Serve as back-up for other staff, which includes monitoring of departmental conference calendars, coverage of clinicians, etc.
  • Assist faculty physicians with reappointments to Maria Parham Medical Center, Danville Regional Hospital, Duke Health, Duke Regional, Scotland Memorial Hospital and Wake Med Health & Hospitals.
  • Prepare travel reimbursements for physicians.
  • Compile physicians manuscripts including typing, literature searches, formulation of bibliography.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • One-year experience of clerical or general office support required.

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
