Job Description:
Project Specialist/Project CoordinatorHybrid (San Diego, CA)
Primary Purpose:
Provide overall project management and coordination support as needed. Support the Project schedule and oversee progress and due dates of deliverables from Project initiation through Project completion. Work with internal and external stakeholders to follow-up on action items to meet Project deliverable deadlines. This position acts as the primary support to the Project Manager, providing progress updates for all Project deliverables to the Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain information programs/applications to ensure accuracy/correctness and all workflow schedules are current (Project SharePoint sites)
- Support stage gate documentation, agendas/minutes, maintain incoming project SharePoint engineering submittals, transmittals and RFI’s.
- Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, process PO’s and provide overall project support to the Project Manager.
- Analyze job estimates to determine value of purchase order to be released for contractor billing and monitor level of contractor spend on each purchase order.
- Support construction efforts, as deemed necessary, for project construction; attend Site Visits as needed
- Support project development from inception to completion
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- High School Graduate required, Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering or Business Management or equivalent field preferred; equivalent experience with approval
- 1-3 years’ experience working in the Utilities background supporting basic utilities.
- The ability to work with teams and be responsible for workflow and output.
- Must be highly proficient in SharePoint and the MS Office applications (Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout service territory.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
- We offer a remote work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from home and travel to onsite substations from San Clemente to Otay Mesa.
