The Northrop Grumman Communications team is looking for savvy Strategic Operations and Events Specialist to help further develop our strategic approach for global trade shows and customer events, support the planning and execution of corporate executive events, and help unify our executive events and trade show team operations.
This position will be located in Falls Church, VA.

In this job, you will:
• Help define strategic recommendations for Northrop Grumman's global engagements based on data, analysis and business strategy.
• Provide surge support for executive and business events globally, including project management, logistics and hands-on, in-person support.
• Define measurement practices: identify key performance indicators, analyze and produce insights, and make recommendations to improve our process and the results of future communications, events and activities.
• Work across the Integrated Marketing and Public Relations team, and other Communications teams, to help identify and promote key message pull-through from trade shows, events, media, customer needs and thought leadership.
• Apply user experience practices to highlight complex concepts in compelling ways.
• Build and maintain strong, positive relationships. Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to business partners Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to executive leaders, providing insights, perspective and counsel on communications strategies and issues to internal audiences.
• Events management requires strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders. At times you may be asked to work weekends to support events, travel domestically and internationally, and work early mornings or evenings to ensure program excellence. Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications and events practices or Master's degree with three (3) years of communications and events experience.
• Strong relationship building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships to influence direction and drive progress at every level of the organization.
• Polished and confident executive presence and strong business acumen.
• Demonstrated success in project management, strategic communications, marketing, public relations, event management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop integrated strategic communications plans, multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Successful experience in account management, negotiation, developing and delivering event strategies that deliver ROI, vendor management.
• Familiar with Customer Relations Management tools such as Salesforce.
• Proficient, or able to learn, Perfect Table Plan, Smartsheet and other event management tools.
• Experience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs and events.
• Familiarity with social tools, measurement tools, website content management systems, SharePoint, the Adobe Suite of products.
• Experience with social media channels, audiences and practices.
• Experience establishing and advancing an organization's brand.
• Understanding of Associated Press Stylebook writing style.
Salary Range: $80,600 - $121,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
