Job Description BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring experienced network engineers to help manage and maintain our company's network on the 7,000 Radford Army Ammunition Plant. This is an opportunity to work at a major Department of Defense manufacturing facility and be part of a team providing our warfighters with the most reliable and safe weapons.
This is a challenging opportunity to build and administer a complicated network with Cisco equipment.
To ensure success as a Principal Network Engineer, you should have extensive experience working with large networks, high-level managerial skills, and advanced project management skills. This position requires the ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing facility with after hours On-Call support included.
We believe in work-life balance, and this position may be worked as a traditional 5/40 schedule or a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Network Engineer Responsibilities:
* Collaborating with existing network engineers to design and implement functional company networks.
* Installing and configuring networking hardware.
* Creating and implementing network security measures including cyber security.
* Conducting regular network performance tests.
* Cyber security related duties (patching/key NIST compliance related tasks).
* Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, DNS and DHCP.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $99200 - $168600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field or equivalent experience.
- Previous work experience as a networking engineer.
- Advanced knowledge of operating systems including Cisco.
- Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers.
- Familiarity with communication and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with network analysis tools.
- High level problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience using SCADA and / or industrial controls
- Experience creating a manufacturing network from scratch
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Cisco Networking
- Fiber Optic cabling and troubleshooting
- Previous work experience as a networking architect
