Position: Pediatrician
The Pediatrician is the clinical champion for PCMH at French Broad Pediatrics. The Pediatrician supervises and directs all of the clinical and non-clinical staff for the treatment of all patients who are in the care of French Broad Pediatrics. Evaluation of the physician is achieved by patient record, consulting with referring physicians, and credentialing at Mission Hospital.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- The Pediatrician delivers comprehensive patient care to all of the French Broad Pediatric patients, whether in the office or in the hospital.
- The Pediatrician is the Team Leader of the Care Team.
- The Pediatrician has office hours 4 days a week, as well as, evening and week-end call.
- The scheduling template for the pediatrician has daily am and pm openings in the schedule for Well Child/Routine appointments, Same Day appointments, and Urgent Appointments. They also have the option to extend hours if needed.
- Huddles at the beginning of the am and pm schedule to structure the work flow for maximum efficiency.
- Huddles on a monthly basis with the Care Team to discuss and ongoing needs and issues the patients may have to handle these in a proactive manner.
- Meets regularly during the week with the Care Coordinator to discuss and needs and issues the high-risk patients, hospital patients, patient discharges from hospital or ER.
- Meets monthly with all of the clinical and non-clinical staff
- Maintains board certification in the American Academy of Pediatrics
- Remains in good standing and keeps admitting, CME and all other privileges at Mission Hospital
- Remains up to date in chart documentation in Athena Health
- Works with the Practice Manager to achieve a harmonious working environment in the office
- Provides excellent care for all the patients at FBP by utilizing evidence based guidelines
- Motivates the patients and their families to carry out suitable and safe self-care management and is educated with the assistance of the Care Team and Doctor their particular concerns and diseases
- Provides self-management guidance to patients by giving the patient tools, handouts, community resources, websites, translation services, referrals, and Care Coordination help
- Remains a source of guidance and information for the clinical team
- Creates and implements all standing orders for the clinical and non- clinical staff to carry out excellent, safe patient care
- Works with the Practice Manager to ensure that Athena Health metrics working and able to gather population management information
- Participates in ongoing Quality Improvement Evaluation and Practice Performance measures.
- Participates in ongoing training in population management
Job Requirements:
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina. Pediatric Fellowship
