QuadMed is seeking an Occupational Health LPN to join our team in Flushing, NY. The LPN is part of the team dedicated to providing day-to-day clinical and operational activities for Occupational Health Services. The LPN will be a highly motivated, quality-conscious healthcare professional with the ability to work in an environment where one-on-one time with patients and positive outcomes are the ultimate measurement of success.
Scheduled: This is a PRN position to fill as needed shifts (7a-5pm OR pm-7am).
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The LPN is part of the team dedicated to providing day-to-day clinical and operational activities for Occupational Health Services. The LPN will be a highly motivated, quality-conscious healthcare professional with the ability to work in an environment where one-on-one time with patients and positive outcomes are the ultimate measurement of success. The successful candidate willfocus on prevention and wellness, perform all nursing functions, phone triage, coordinate care with external providers, and patient education as directed by the providers on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides quality care to all patients. Treats all patients with dignity and respect. Understands, follows, and maintains all Patient Rights.
- Provides prompt, appropriate clinical care to all employees in conformance with company policies, clinical protocols, state regulations, standard nursing guidelines, and ethical standards. This includes worksite injury/illness evaluation per QuadMed approved clinical protocols, treatment coordination with the Wellness Center, and referral to urgent care or emergency department in accordance with QuadMed approved clinical protocols.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation into the EMR for all patient care; i.e.-patient interviews and history, vital signs, treatments, test results.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and organization information.
- Follows federal and state regulations and organization policies regarding protection of patient information.
- Assists in the modification of patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses, conditions, and as ordered by the provider.
- Performs other duties to include recording of vital signs, audiograms, vision testing, urine collection, blood collection, spirometry, respirator fit testing, injections, basic first aid, urine drug testing, and breath alcohol testing.
- Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments and equipment. Ensure rooms are stocked with supplies.
- Performs administrative functions, front office functions and schedules appointments as requested.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Graduate from an approved nursing program with an associate degree or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience required. Occupational Health experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Current license in state of residence or compact licensure required
- Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S), and/or in other Occupational Health related services (CAOHC, NIOSH-approved spirometry) preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of practical nursing theories and polices
- Knowledge of the patient care procedures, medical protocols, and testing procedures necessary to support an Occupational Health center.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Organizational and decision-making abilities
- Excellent assessment skills
- Computer skills required (electronic medical record experience preferred)
- Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion
Employees can be expected to be paid an hourly range of $39.00-$41.00, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions
