Job Title: Network Lead
Apex Systems is looking for a Lead Network Engineer to support our California State Agency client.
This is a W2 Contract opportunity, and will require 5 days a week on site.
Summary: The Network Lead role is responsible for overseeing the configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Cisco solutions for a California State Agency. This position involves leading a team of network engineers, ensuring the successful delivery and maintenance of networking solutions, and coordinating with various stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
Scope of Role Responsibilities:
Essential, key job responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the primary Network Lead for the California State Agency.
- Oversee the configuration, installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of technical networking solutions for the customer.
- Lead assessments, planning, design, configuration, installation, and support of networking solutions.
- Validate solution designs, bills of materials, statements of work, and labor estimates when appropriate.
- Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely tracking of client work, service calls, and related documentation.
- Coordinate travel between Agency sites, ensuring team members have reliable transportation. All travel will be expensed, including IRS mileage reimbursement, tolls, and parking.

Details: Role Qualifications and Requirements:
The following are minimum qualifications and requirements for this role:
- At least 7 years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Extensive Cisco networking experience, including Cisco Wireless.
- Proficiency with network monitoring, management, and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with other networking products and technologies, including Palo Alto, F5, NSX/Forescout.
- Ability to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving or troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required during client cutovers.
- High level of independence and strong client service skills. Organizational ability is crucial to keep track of all tasks, due to the necessity of multi-tasking.
- Must be a team player, yet work well independently.
- Adept at managing tasks assigned by management or team leads.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must supply a reliable cell phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- At least one major vendor certification (Cisco CCNP, CCIE) or equivalent experience.
