Senior Network Engineer - CCIE - Onsite in Greensboro, NC - W2 Only

Apex Systems is looking to hire a full-time ONSITE Network Engineer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Create complex networking and circuit installations by analyzing customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Select necessary equipment and tools, assess installation sites, and prepare detailed diagrams that ensure scalability, redundancy, and high availability.
- Set up and configure voice and data networks by installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors while managing security protocols to protect sensitive data.
- Optimize network protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) for high availability and redundancy. Integrate new technologies to enhance overall network performance and reliability.
- Gather and analyze data from various sources to identify network performance improvements. Evaluate metrics to recommend enhancements.
- Interpret product information to develop cost-effective solutions and maintain up-to-date network documentation and diagrams reflecting changes in infrastructure.
- Conduct advanced testing on circuits and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement backup and recovery procedures to minimize downtime.
- Partner internally to resolve design and maintenance challenges. Work with vendors to ensure seamless network integration.
- Adhere to industry standards and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Update network policies in response to regulatory changes.
- Stay informed on industry advancements through education and conferences.
- Take ownership of new initiatives, seeking opportunities to enhance processes and optimize network efficiency and security.
- Manage lifecycle maintenance for all devices.
Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, or Computer Science
- CCIE certification is required
- 8+ years of network engineering experience
- Strong experience in routing, switching, network security protocols, and Carrier Ethernet Transport. Familiarity with MPLS and SD-WAN is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco hardware and software, particularly relevant to CCIE certification.
- Proficient in using network monitoring solutions like PRTG and experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Python scripting.
- Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts. Experience presenting to management and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
- Ability to work independently and lead teams, fostering the application of new concepts and technologies.
- Experience with IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP, with a thorough understanding of dynamic routing protocols.
- Familiarity with Linux environments to support network services is preferred.
