The Merchandise Prepper is responsible for the preparation of client'smerchandise/product/samples for photography. Works closely with the Merchandise Coordinator to unpack, tag, organize and categorize for photography. The Merchandise Prepper takes each sample for photography and professionally prepares it - assembling, iron or steaming/pressing appareland garmentswith an understanding of each product or sample qualities and features preparing them for the best styling and camera-ready photography result.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Merchandise Coordinator to gather, track, sort, organize and maintain all product samples
- Unpack, hang or shelf all product samples
- Professionally iron, steam, presses all apparel/garment product samples
- Merchandise Preppers assist and support the on-set Stylists by reducing or eliminating pre-creative styling steps
- Accept and "de-style" samples returned from the set. For apparel: by removing pins, cards, tissue, stuffing, batting etc. For other product samples by breaking down (dis-assembly) and/or packing back into "return ready" holding areas, pending return
- Facilitate and expedite the return of all samples/product/merchandise/props to place of origin
- Organize and maintain the inventory within the advertising sample/prop area
- Provide merchandise status reports as required
Qualifications:
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis
- 2+ yearsof relevant experience
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects
- Possess strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient with all professional prepping equipment to achieve camera-ready results of product samples.
- Iron, steamer, large and small ironing boards, sleeve boards, tailor's ham.
