Part Time Medical AssistantMount Sinai Wellness Center Nursing department is growing and searching for a motivated, compassionate individual to add to our team! We are a dual diagnosis facility that provides detox and residential treatment to clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders.Responsibilities:

Assisting the nurses with vital signs, answering the phone, acquiring Prior Authorizations for medications, and finding out what pharmacy a patient needs to utilize according to their insurance.
Assisting in getting patients into the nurse's stations for assessment by the nurses.
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Experience working with insurance companies.
Prioritizing skills, and professionalism.
Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
