- General maintenance skills and techniques
- Small Bore Pipefitting
- Pump (Centrifugal & Positive Displacement) - removal / seal replacement / bench rebuilding / installation
- Mechanical seal or Packing service / installation.
- Align and calibrate rotating machinery (Pumps / Agitators) and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation - must have experience with Laser Alignment equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction equipment and machinery.
- Plant equipment installation and troubleshooting.
- Regular inspection of all mechanical equipment of a facility - detecting any defects and malfunctions in the plant equipment, repairing, or replacing defective equipment or parts using hand or machines.
- Coordinating with the production and other departments for feedback on the functionality of machinery and equipment.
- Reporting all detected defects and damages to the maintenance supervisor.
- Performing preventive measures for safeguarding the machinery against any kind of degradation on a regular basis.
- Cleaning and lubricating of parts.
- Keeping repair and service maintenance records (Work Orders) of all work conducted in the Plant through use SAP including Parts Inventory/Accuracy.
- Complying with the industry standards and safety regulations of working.
All other task as assigned by supervisor or designee.
Knowledge and Technical Competencies :
- Should have excellent written as well as verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
- Must be willing to attend formal classroom training (example: at Joliet Junior College) for ongoing development.
- This is a union hourly position.
- Must be able to work 12 Hour Shift
- Must work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
- Schedule: 7am - 7pm or 7pm - 7am

- High school graduate or GED
- Equivalent of either: A completed associate degree in industrial maintenance (JJC's IMT Program) or a Journeyman level millwright certification.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
