Full Job Description
The Jewelry Washer is responsible for the efficient processing and cleaning of merchandise using the wash line, ultrasonic and steam units at the USGDC. This position inspects serviced items and enforces department quality standards on all merchandise processed and provides administrative and logistical support to related staff as necessary.
What You'll Do:
- Provide efficient washing, cleaning, steaming and perform quality assurance of merchandise assigned to the wash line within the Product Services department, ensuring all departmental standards for timeliness, accuracy and quality are maintained. Process, wrap safely and securely, all serviced items, and accurately track all orders for required reporting. Provide support to polishers and other wash line staff as necessary.
- Adapt easily to new responsibilities including the capacity to work independently or in a group environment, allowing for the flexing to all areas of Personalization, and/or Distribution, providing the necessary support to fulfill business needs
- Work together with management, Facilities and other relevant groups to maintain and operate wash line equipment effectively
- Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedure for your position as well as all safety procedures required at your worksite. Promptly report all incidents and safety issues to your supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience in a technical work environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions
- Ability to learn new skills and work in a fast paced technical environment
- Able to multi-task and work in an organized manner in a team-like environment
- Able to work effectively in heavy workload situations
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of gemstones, and associated care/handling of such stones and high value jewelry
- GIA or relevant experience/knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with PKMS system
- Experience working with steamer and ultrasonic equipment
