Position Overview
Core Space’s Property Accounting Intern will manage a portfolio of properties and assist the property accounting team with a summer project to improve a process. Strong attention to detail, motivation to learn, and a desire to take on a new challenge are key attributes we are seeking.
What You Will Do

Perform monthly end process including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reviewing ledger detail, and maintaining supporting schedules for GAAP-based financial statements

Work and establish positive relationships and maintain frequent communication with community teams

Prepare and review bank reconciliations

Calculate and project monthly cash flow distributions

Assist Senior Property Accountant with ad hoc projects

Interact with and review for accuracy and consistency, work prepared by third party financial preparers

Occasional travel may be necessary as needed

Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management

Must be able to complete all physical requirements of this role with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ideally, you'll have

Current sophomore or junior in college studying accounting or finance

An understanding of accounting and financial principles

Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
-
A team player attitude and motivation to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge

Proficient in MS Excel and Word
