In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
We are seeking a Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join our Engineering team in Springfield, Virginia for the role of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team member. The O&M team activities include supporting the daily execution of activities on a complex satellite ground system, supporting internal and external stakeholder maintenance activities, supporting bi-weekly operational software deliveries and performing on-site E2 triage and support during business hours with after-hours on-call expectations.
What You Will Do
This role includes but is not limited to:
• Provide regular updates to the on-site SETA team via a daily status page and in-person engagements
• Support weekly SETA and team lead technical tag-ups
• Support Change Management Board meetings as needed
• Provide technical SME support as an on-site E2 Systems Integration & Test Engineer
• Work in a classified lab on site
• Work in an Agile program environment
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Typically requires a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant systems integration and test experience or 5 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree in (STEM)
• Experience working on-site in a badgeless environment with multiple stakeholders
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution problems
• Experience with systems engineering principles and activities
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with Poly security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment
• Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations)
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Test Automation experience (Cucumber, Gherkin, home-grown)
• Experience with Java, C++, or Python
• Experience with Linux operating system
