Job Summary
Admit, transfer and discharge patients on one or more inpatient units. Receive and assist patients, visitors and staff providing excellent customer service. Answer patient calls in a professional manner. Process physician's orders and referrals. Respond to emergent situations in a calm, correct, and professional manner. Record and coordinate patient appointments and tests. Procure supplies, equipment and services for patients. Maintain census information. Assist in the training of new unit clerks, and orient staff to new policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications*
- Customer service experience.
- Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Multitasking ability
- Ability to work with many details with accuracy
- Data entry or computer experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Previous experience as an inpatient clerk in a medical setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
Work Schedule
- Part time - 24 hrs/wk
- Work Schedule 11:30 pm - 7:30 am
- Includes rotating weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to complete a 4 week - 40 hour/week training program consisting of at least two weeks training on Day Shift (7:15 AM - 3:45 PM) before transitioning to night shift.
