Starting Rate: $70,000 - $78,000 based on education and experience.

Statement of Purpose:

The Human Resource Generalist will execute the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including interviewing, hiring and prescreening staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for employee relations to include investigating allegations that require corrective actions and / or performance improvement plans.

Essential Functions:

  1. Promotes and practices CAN Community Health's mission and values and follows its policies and procedures.
  2. Ensures confidentiality is maintained by entire team regarding patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA, professional and departmental standards.
  3. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  4. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  5. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  6. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  7. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource initiatives including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  8. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  9. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  10. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

Education/Professional:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  2. 1 years' experience of HR management preferred.
  3. SHRM-CP preferred.
  4. Minimum 4 years progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a clinical setting.

  9. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  10. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  11. High comfort working in a diverse and team environment.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, audio visual, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Neat, professional appearance.
  2. Sedentary- Exerts up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly in lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  3. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
  4. Requires expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, visual and auditory acuity.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This position may require additional time above normal operating hours and on occasion weekend work.

Travel:

Travel is primary during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver's license.


Must be able to pass a Level I and Level II background check.
