Job Description:
Our client is seeking a mid-level electrical engineer to support to assist our Government clients with system architecture and software development, and integration of maritime sensors.
This role is critical to ensuring the successful definition and maturity of a portable maritime hardware and software system design. This role will support the determination operational and mission requirements, the development of power generation and distribution across the systems and components.
Schedule: hybrid, 3-4 days a week on-site
Responsibilities:
- Define system requirements for power generation, distribution, and management, including power electronics, converters, and power factor correction
- Develop and execute test plans for validating system performance and reliability, including designing automated test setups
- Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to electrical systems and components
- Assist with defining system interfaces and APIs for enabling interactions across applications and sub-systems
- Perform trade-off analysis on power, weight, and other attributes to determine sensor package requirements
- Document system specific modularity and interoperability between systems platforms
- Collect and organize broad scale maritime surface sensor capabilities. Evaluate platforms for capability and integrate into a modular, interoperable architecture
Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience supporting Department of Defense acquisitions in an systems electrical engineering role
- Education – Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools. i.e. Jira, Confluence, MS Projects
- Familiarity with mesh, point to point, hub/spoke, software defined networking, named data networking, IP stack
- Strong skills in MATLAB, and others relevant to system development and automation
