Our internationally recognized education-focused not-for-profit client in Washington, DC, is looking for a Director of Revenue Marketing for its new museum. This direct hire position requires a minimum of 3 days a week onsite at their downtown headquarters/museum site.
The ideal candidate will come from a museum, attraction, cultural institution that requires paid admission. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new museum and develop the pricing models, ticket pricing, annual membership, etc.
Duties of the Director of Revenue Marketing:
- Working hand in hand with the VP of Strategy and Revenue you will develop and oversee the revenue generation marketing plans and strategy
- You will develop annual marketing plans to generate leads, increase market share and maximize revenue across all lines of business, including ticket sales, tour bookings, group sales, food/beverage, retail, event rentals, event planning, etc.
- Work with the Museum's marketing team to make this museum a must-see attraction
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop GTM strategies to engage, grow and retain target audiences
- Work to ensure the museum's marketing efforts align with the overarching brand's marketing campaigns and strategy
- Manage the relationships with vendors, agencies, and internal teams to produce campaigns promoting the museum effectively
- Lead a team of 3-5 direct reports
- Ensure budgeted revenues are achieved through entrance admission and add-on tickets i.e. special exhibitions, talks
- Track key KPis to ensure maximum revenue is achieved
- Work collaboratively across events, retail, F&B, sales to achieve common budget goals
- Create and maintain budget for marketing agency and track spend against target and goals
Requirements of the Director of Revenue Marketing:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, an MBA is a plus
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in destination, museum, live entertainment, experiential marketing
- Experience developing multi-channel marketing strategies to drive acquisition and growth
- Experience building pricing models and ticket packages
- Experience leveraging traditional and digital marketing channels to reach target audiences domestically and internationally
- Experience managing at least 3 direct reports
- Experience analyzing data to provide recommendations to increase audience reach
- Experience managing department budgets
