Position Overview
The Director of Centralized Services will be responsible for hiring, training, and developing a proficient team dedicated to executing the daily activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with the financial management of their designated communities. The Centralized Services Director will leverage centralization tools, advise on best practices, and assist with the development and training of all supporting tools and software to drive efficiency, automation, and communication as part of this strategy. This operations leader is the ultimate champion of Core’s Values.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Operations Support on strategy and goals related to long-term vision for centralized collections and leasing
- Spearhead the recruitment, training, and continuous development of team members, fostering their growth and expertise.
- Establish and refine the framework of this department within the operational platform, overseeing its successful implementation of the centralized platform
- Develops or makes recommendations for enhancements of implementing policies, updating procedures, and required systems to increase efficiencies and known ownership of identified responsibilities.
- Define KPI’s and hold team members accountable for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks related to delinquency goal, invoice review and processing, variance reporting, and financial reporting; Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, technology, and business systems, to ensure comprehensive visibility into portfolio performance.
- Works closely with accounting to improve policy and processes related to the monthly variance reports and ensures best practices are in place for clean and accurate monthly financials
- Develop portfolio reporting platform to provide insight for property and portfolio performance
- Directs and supports special projects as assigned.
Ideally you’ll have
- At least seven (7) years of Property Management experience within Multi-Family or Student Housing (required)
- Preferably, two (2) years of experience at a Regional level or above, showcasing a trajectory of growth and leadership
- Strong leadership skills, ability to be able to inspire and guide team members to achieve their best performance
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation is beneficial for defining KPIs, tracking performance, and making data-driven decisions
- Proficiency in navigating systems, including the ability to analyze and direct workflow, customize processes to meet business needs, and leverage automation
- Experience in training and developing team members, as the role involves the recruitment and continuous development of staff
- A deep understanding of financial management principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting, is crucial for effective oversight and decision-making
- College degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience

- 2+ years of experience with Centralized Services
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, adaptable to a variety of audiences
- Confidence in decision-making skills, based on a wealth of experience
- Proficiency in team-building to enhance group dynamics, fostering a collaborative and productive environment
- Proficiency managing and building out backend workflows through property management software and AI software
- Strong customer service skills to resolve concerns and celebrate wins
- Flexibility to perform in a fast pace, growing and evolving environment
Base Salary: $130,000-$145,000 annually. This range reflects compensation aligned with our Chicago, IL headquarters. Actual pay may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
Additional Compensation: Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, typically 20% of base salary annually, depending on individual and organizational performance.
