MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Assist in identifying and cataloging data assets across the organization
- Collaborate with data stewards to document Collaborate with data stewards to document metadata, data sources, and data lineage using Microsoft Purview.
- Ensure accurate classification of data types, including sensitive and regulatory data.
- Analyze existing datasets to identify data quality issues such as duplicates, inconsistencies, and missing values.
- Collaborate with teams to define data quality rules, thresholds, and metrics.
- Use Profisee to test and validate the implementation of master data quality rules.
- Work with stakeholders to classify data according to business importance and sensitivity levels.
- Validate the correctness of sensitivity labels applied by Microsoft Purview.
- Provide recommendations for data handling based on classifications.
- Analyze usage patterns and access logs to support the creation of access control and usage policies.
- Provide insights into data retention and lifecycle management requirements.
- Build and maintain dashboards to track governance metrics (e.g., data quality scores, compliance status).
- Use analytical tools to monitor adherence to governance policies and flag anomalies.
- Deliver periodic reports on the status of data governance initiatives to stakeholders.
- Assist in mapping data lineage by identifying upstream and downstream systems, data flows, and dependencies.
- Use Microsoft Purview to visualize lineage and ensure its accuracy.
- Perform impact analysis to identify potential risks when changes occur to critical data assets.
- Work with data stewards and data owners to address quality and governance issues.
- Help train teams on using Microsoft Purview and Profisee for data governance.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data governance requirements are met.
- Analyze data against compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) to identify gaps.
- Use Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager to generate insights and prioritize remediation actions.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports for audits.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in governance practices.
- Monitor trends in data usage and quality to suggest iterative enhancements.
- Collaborate on refining data governance policies based on real-world data analysis outcomes.
- 3+ years of experience working with data or other technical teams to build and test PowerBI dashboards and Microsoft Azure based data assets.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience querying databases for exploratory purposes.
- Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Microsoft Purview: For data cataloging, classification, and compliance tracking.
- Profisee: For Master Data Management and improving data quality.
- Visualization Tools: Such as Power BI, to create governance dashboards.
- Collaboration Tools: Such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, to document and share findings.
- Experience routing quality deliverables in a medical device organization
- Experience reading/writing query and object-oriented programming languages: Python, SQL, etc.
- Experience with project management and scrum tools, especially those in the Microsoft Azure stack (Azure DevOps).
- Prior project management experience a plus
- Experience presenting data for C-level stakeholders a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; possesses strong organization and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
