Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design and implement a scalable data platform that will serve as the foundation of the new platform for our SaaS product. This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a cutting-edge platform that will enhance our digital presence and improve customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data engineering, and a proven track record of building data platforms that handle large volumes of data efficiently.

Scope of Work

• Outcomes / results are defined in collaboration with management. Elevates questions on direction or more complex issues and work is assessed from a longer term perspective. May train or mentor lesser experienced employees.
• Design and develop a scalable data platform to support analytics, reporting, and AI-driven functionality. This is a hands-on role where you will write code and define the architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, subject matter experts, and other developers to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Implement data integration processes to ingest, clean, and transform data from various sources.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the data platform.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance and reliability.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data architecture and analytics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Possesses expert level knowledge and has top level skills and abilities to work on business problems of substantial complexity or scope.
• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field. 

• 6+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related role.
• Proven experience in building and managing data platforms for analytics and reporting at scale.
• Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), data warehousing, and big data technologies.
• Proficiency in data integration tools and techniques.
• Experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and its data services. Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc) a plus.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Python, or similar.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Comfort working with evolving requirements and frequent changes based on stakeholder feedback.
• Proven track record of frequent delivery of incremental value.
• Comfort with product experimentation and failing fast to learn quickly.
• Management experience is a plus.
• Strong desire for personal growth and continuous learning.
