Our client is looking for a detail oriented multi-tasker with strong communication skills and a knowledge of color application on textiles. You will be an important member of our color development team who analyze color developments and ensure that accuracy of color requirements and documentation are met and completed for on-time commercialization. You will possess knowledge of apparel industry color methods and standards. You have a passionate drive to improve system and process, to collaborate with others and positively impact the teams you work with. This role is hybrid; Monday-Thursday onsite, Fridays remote.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
As a Global Apparel Materials (GLAM) Color Developer, you will be the main point of contact partnering with Cross Functional teams to execute color direction.
You will use your color knowledge and collaboration skills to help execute color palettes and be responsible for on-time buy ready commercialization. You will help lead and implement the design and development of tools and processes to support color execution for Apparel. You will facilitate and track lab dips for seasonal initiatives and identify and address key issues and challenges in color development. You will ensure on time development according to critical dates and gates. In this role you will have the opportunity to interact with business teams involved in design, materials, product merchandising, product creation, material manufacturing and product integrity.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will report into the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and support your development partners in color developments. You are a critical team member of the color development community and sought out as the expert resource. You will work in partnership with Product Merchandising, Technical Development, Design, Product Creation Centers, Materials Integrity, Product Integrity, and all (GLAM) Global Apparel Materials Team members.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING?
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Textiles, Chemistry, or a related field (2 additional years experience in lieu of a degree)
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Ability to pass the Munsell Hue color test to determine visual color acuity
- Understanding of the application of color on materials
- Knowledge of apparel and material construction, including garment construction
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Strong information seeking-skills and a drive to make things happen
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
- Ability to network and utilize internal and external resources
- Self-starter attitude and the ability to be a team player within a fast-paced team
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Product Data Management systems
- Experience with Smartsheets a plus
- Knowledge of heather materials and techniques
- Knowledge of product creation process and the apparel business
- Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $28.19 to $31.33 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
