Responsibilities

Team Managers are committed to leading and developing our employees to ensure they provide the best service for our customers. This includes:

  • First-line management of assigned Claim personnel, which includes hiring, training, coaching, performance management and salary activities
  • Review and control of the operation's claim activities including investigations, claim payments, and adjustment expense payments
  • Coordinating, communicating, and implementing new Company programs, policies, practices, and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures, applicable federal/state laws, and legal requirements
  • Promoting development of employees within an inclusive environment

This is a Remote-Field position in which you will work from home and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for in-person appointments. Candidates may be asked to work outside of their assigned territory as business needs dictates.

Hours of operation are continually evaluated and may change based on business need. Successful candidates are able and willing to work flexible work shifts and may be asked to work overtime and/or irregular hours.

Additional Details:

  • Fulfills state licensing and continuing education requirements, as applicable
  • Position requires extensive travel via commercial transportation and driving motor vehicles
  • Must maintain a valid license to lawfully operate vehicles as directed/requested by State Farm
  • May travel to any location where the Company does business
  • Completes job duties as a telecommuter
  • Normally works extended hours and weekends
  • May work outside domicile location for extended periods
  • Requires lifting, carrying, unfolding, and climbing a ladder for inspections on both residential and commercial structures
  • May work in adverse weather conditions and challenging physical environments
  • Must meet applicable licensing requirements
  • Position requires inspecting Property and Casualty claims, which could include obtaining the measurements of the roof and living areas, the inspection of attics, basements, crawl spaces and other claim locations as applicable and requires walking, climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, crawling, and lifting objects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Claims operations and/or call center experience preferred
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviors
  • Promote and maintain a relentless focus on the customer when making decisions
  • Candidly assess our environment and tackle challenges head-on
  • Inspire and energize people to understand and achieve common goals
  • Physical agility to allow for: frequent lifting, carrying, and climbing a ladder; ability to navigate roofs at various heights for inspection of both residential and commercial structures; ability to crawl in tight spaces
  • Experience with Xactimate, XactContents
  • A valid driver's license is required

This position is in the WCCS-Deployed business area of State Farm. These positions are deployable positions with extensive travel throughout the U.S. requiring on location and/or virtual response to places we do business impacted by weather events. WCCS-Deployed personnel for this position should reside in or nearby to areas of the United States with historical weather demands and catastrophe response needs. If a candidate resides in or nearby weather demand areas of historical catastrophe response, relocation is not anticipated for this requisition.

For this requisition. WCCS-Deployed is not hiring candidates domiciled in Alaska, Arizona, California or Hawaii. Persons interested in and who apply for this WCCS-Deployed position who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii or other states not in or nearby to states with historical weather demands, if selected, must be willing and able to relocate to areas of or nearby to historical weather demand locations. Relocation benefits may be applicable in these circumstances and the Hiring Manager will discuss possible relocation benefits with selected candidates, if and when warranted.

Candidates should know that future legal or business needs of the WCCS-Deployed business segment may require future relocation to support Enterprise policy and maintain our ability to respond timely to catastrophe events.

This position is in the WCCS-Deployed structure. This will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Must be willing to work flexible work shifts as operations dictates
  • May work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, based on workload and job requirement
  • May be required to work overtime
  • May require serving in or for geographic locations other than that of the assigned area
  • Position may require walking, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crawling and/or lifting objects
  • Requires frequent lifting, carrying, unfolding and climbing a ladder and utilizing appropriate equipment in accordance with safety guidelines to traverse roofs at various heights for inspection of both residential and commercial structures to gather information needed during the adjustment of a claim

May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training (RAST)

Claims experience; Role/Segment experience; Job performance; Geographic location; Jurisdictional knowledge is preferred.

Claim Team Managers in a WCCS-Deployed role will typically work hours that vary from week to week and could include weekends and holidays and travel to any location State Farm does business with minimal notice.
