Job Description:
Job Overview- Role: CAD Technician - Drafter
- Length: 1+ year contract
- Location: Akron - must be local
- Work Arrangement: Full-time in the office, with 30 days of remote work allowed
Drafting and Design:
- Prepare new drawings and revise existing ones using AutoCAD.
- Ensure adherence to company and client drafting standards and ANSI drafting practices.
- Work on substation projects, focusing on wiring and controls.
- Perform back-checking to minimize comments from engineers.
Collaboration:
- Work alongside Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Engage in tasks utilizing various drafting and design software.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned.
Education:
- Associate’s degree in a CAD-related program or specialized CAD certification.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD and basic knowledge of Vault (document control management software).
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow technical knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
