Project
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to support the Studio Financial & Sales Transformation program. This role will be instrumental in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, ensuring that technology solutions align with the Studios’ financial planning and sales strategy objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, with experience in financial systems, sales planning, and data management within a media or entertainment context.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
Process Analysis and Improvement:
- Analyze existing business processes related to financial planning and sales operations, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to redesign processes that will enhance efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with Studios strategy.
- Document and map current and future state processes, providing clear and actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Data Analysis and Reporting.
- Work with data teams to analyze financial, sales, and operational data, providing insights that will inform decision-making and prioritization within the program.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that present data clearly and actionably to various stakeholders.
- Ensure that data integrity and accuracy are maintained throughout the analysis and reporting processes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a liaison between business users and the technical program team, ensuring that business needs are clearly communicated and understood.
- Facilitate communication between Studios stakeholders and the CIO/CTO organizations, ensuring that all parties are aligned on program goals and deliverables.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the progress of business analysis activities and any emerging issues or risks.
- Solution Design Support:
- Work closely with solution architects, developers, and data teams to ensure that the proposed solutions meet the business requirements.
- Participate in the design of new systems or enhancements to existing systems, ensuring that they align with the functional specifications and business objectives.
- Assist in the development of test cases and scenarios to validate that the solutions meet the business needs.
Change Management and Training:
- Support the development and execution of change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technologies within the Studios.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they are fully equipped to use new tools and processes effectively.
- Monitor user adoption and provide ongoing support as needed to address any issues or concerns.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process flows, user guides, and training materials.
- Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, accessible, and in compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
- Business Analyst Experience
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document complex business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Deep understanding of financial systems, sales planning tools, data management platforms, and enterprise technology architecture, business process improvement.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with SQL or other database query languages is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the media, entertainment, or technology sectors.
- Experience working on projects related to financial systems, sales planning, data management, or business process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document complex business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements
- Strong understanding of the media and entertainment industry, particularly in the areas of content production and distribution, is a plus.
- Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or similar certification is preferred.
- Any relevant financial or data management certifications are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, including process mapping, requirements gathering, and data analysis.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with SQL or other database query languages is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) systems, sales planning tools, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly desirable.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or similar certification is preferred.
- Any relevant financial or data management certifications are a plus.
