Title: Associate Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI (On-Site)
Duration: 12+ Months
Role Type: W2 Contract Engagement

Overview:

Employee to assist with evaluations of new materials and root cause analyses of defective materials. This work supports: supplier quality management, material standard revisions, lab evaluations of new materials and root cause analyses of material defects identified in the field.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

* Develop and implement Power BI dashboards and PowerApps (data management) to support the Company Gas engineering and laboratory staff including participating in weekly team metric huddles to improve efficiency of internal processes, regulatory reviews and audits to support continuous improvement. -
* Lead material evaluation discussions and perform material testing and chloride analyses. -
* Prepare gas sample bottles for testing, check gas analysis data, and attend field visits with laboratory technicians to gain additional understanding around the sampling process and where and why natural gas samples are required.

Employee to also support coordination of Fire Extinguisher inspections, throughout Gas Company

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions.
* Proficiency in programming languages,
* Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices.
* Knowledge of relational databases and database management systems.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a positive and proactive mindset.
* Knowledge of industry-standard engineering tools and software.
* Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of network protocols and infrastructure would be an added advantage

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Previous experience or internships in an engineering role is preferred but not mandatory.
* Relevant certifications or training in engineering principles and practices.
* Proficiency in using engineering software and tools.
* Strong academic background in mathematics, science, or engineering-related subjects
