Job Description:
Seeking a Scientist to join a growing Biotech company in the Lansdale, PA area.Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team to support the development and evaluation of non-viral gene therapies using the company’s novel technology.
- Molecular characterization of biomolecules including DNA-conjugated modalities including peptides, antibodies, proteins, and small molecules.
- Test various molecules and modalities for biochemical suitability, potential efficacy and safety using cell-based assays combined with various analytical methods.
- Develop cell and molecular assays to assess cell fate, potency and durability of the delivery scaffold and genetic payloads.
- Design and test cell-based protocols for transfer to the Development team.
- Maintain data acquisition and analysis in electronic laboratory notebook.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences with 3-5 years or a MS degree with 0-3 years of research and development experience.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and knowledge on cell based assays.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with DNA and RNA extraction methods and downstream use.
- Hands-on experience with standard laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Able to digest complex articles and reviews and pull relevant information, ideas, and methodologies for experimental use.
- General understanding of cell-based assays and outcomes.
- Knowledge of peptide and protein structure and function.
- Basic analytical characterization methods.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with flow cytometry cell-based assays for quantitative assessment of results.
- Experience with qPCR, ddPCR and other qualitative and quantitative nucleic acid analysis methodologies.
- Experience in performing plate and bead-based pulldown and analytical assays.
- Able to troubleshoot experiments and instrument issues.
