What do our Account Managers do?

Account Managers build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with current customers, always striving to find the products which best fit the individual needs of the client. Account management responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, responding to customers' questions and concerns, and identifying new business opportunities (including new line of business offerings) among existing customers.

Account Managers work with cross-functional internal teams to improve the entire customer experience. Account Managers collaborate with the Account Executive team to achieve sales targets while keeping our clients satisfied and engaged with our products and services to maximize retention.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Typical weekly structure (75% in field meeting customers)

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts consisting of at least 3 site visits per year per account

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all key account management matters

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships

  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize account profitability

  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors

  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives

  • Clearly communicate the progress of initiatives to internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop new business with existing clients

  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. monthly forecasting)

  • Prepare reports on account status as required

  • Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory

  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed

  • Attend Branch Meetings and maintain a positive working relationship with internal teams

  • Timely submission of business expenses and vehicle mileage for reimbursement

  • Successfully complete all LOB/New Product certifications

  • Salesforce entry as needed to ensure accurate accounting of sales

  • Submission of monthly GW and QAI documentation through ReForm

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Client retention at or above the Branch’s annual Retention Targets

  • Increase of LOBs by client

  • BST targets that tie directly to the Branch metrics for revenue and growth. Those BSTs will include specifics around recurring revenue, job revenue, and holiday revenue.

  • Contribution to positive feedback from clients in the way of strong goodwill, quality assurance inspections, and CVC results.

What do you need?

  • 1-3 years of Account Management or Plant Care Experience

  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs

  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail

  • Exceptional verbal and written and technology driven communication skills

  • Ability to collect, track, and analyze large amounts of data

  • Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally.

  • Understanding of consumer behaviors and industry trends

  • Extensive, accurate product knowledge

  • Experience with interior plant knowledge preferred but not required

  • Must successfully meet pre-employment background screen

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence and pass motor vehicle record search.
