Our agency, specializing in multicultural marketing and community engagement, is looking for an Account Director to join our team. We work on brand campaigns and brand- issue-related communication services for market segments such as health, transportation, water, construction, public policy, education, and more. We work with public agencies and private corporations to reach diverse audiences for greater cultural impact.

We're looking for an Account Director to manage our growing client relationships. As a senior member of the service team, this individual will be responsible for guiding marketing strategies and executions for an assigned group of clients, both local and national. They will be accountable for client profitability, relationship building, marketing strategy, campaign development and management, team leadership, and business analysis. Our ideal candidate is a highly passionate, independent thinker and problem-solving leader with a proven track record of success.

Key Responsibilities of the Account Director:

  • Provide Strategic and Marketing Leadership

    • Create relevant, innovative strategic plans that will help drive our clients' business.

    • Work with clients to uncover business needs and objectives, craft appropriate strategies, and identify/implement strategies/tactics to help achieve client goals.

    • Create, implement, and interpret effective analysis and measurement tools to support marketing recommendations.

  • Develop Broad Industry Expertise

    • Become an expert in client business areas and products.

    • Learn/apply industry digital and emerging technologies.

  • Build and Grow Client Relationships

    • Gain new business from existing clients by consistently delivering excellent service, gaining client trust and loyalty, and staying informed about client business and marketing needs.

    • Understand clients’ businesses and generate new ideas to enhance client performance and ROI to ultimately increase billings for each account.

    • Build trust, credibility, and client referrals.

    • Develop multi-tiered agency-client relationships and ties.

  • Effectively Manage Teams

    • Whether a direct report or from another internal team, collaboratively manage members of the service team, and other subject matter experts ensuring the team is providing quality work to clients.

    • Coordinate with leadership, account teams, and operations to select and procure outside purchases and freelance services needed to complete projects, such as design, illustration, photography, web programming, printing, hosting, fonts, etc.

    • Foster teamwork and a constructive work environment.

    • Be an example to those around you.

  • Manage Financial Performance

    • Own, maintain, and improve account profitability, keeping a close eye on budget, including hours available for each initiative, profitability of accounts, etc.

    • Contribute to the agency's bottom line by creating SOWs that are smart and effective.

  • Balance client demands with participation in broader agency initiatives, including new business pitches and proposals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • College degree required.

  • Approximately 8+ years of related industry experience, preferably brand or marketing experience at a marketing agency.

  • Demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service.

  • Proven experience in managing teams working cross-functionally within an organization.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge or experience in account management/coordination, client/campaign strategy, and media planning.

  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills.

Compensation

  • $140,000 – $150,000, annually.
