Summary

This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence - Intelligence Analysis. As a Visual Information Specialist, you will primarily support OIA's Assistant Secretary and front office's data visualization and graphic design needs. Secondary duties will include supporting analytic products.

Duties

Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As a Visual Information Specialist, you will:

  • Work closely with OIA Intelligence Research Specialists to develop visual analytic solutions through analysis of complex quantitative data sets to illustrate patterns, relationships, trends, comparisons, exceptions and to illustrate analysis of abstract ideas.
  • Formulate and implement communication policies and procedures based on interactions with IC elements, committees and working groups that bring OIA communications into alignment with IC best practices.
  • Align and maintain all OIA branding in print and web media through identifying current and future web content needs.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A two-year trial period may be required.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
  • Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-14 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or equivalent, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Managing all aspects of producing visual information for print and online uses, including the design, creation, and preparation of support visuals, infographics, charts, graphs, maps, process charts, illustrations, page layouts, and related content; AND
-Planning, coordinating and managing the preparation and use of various kinds of visuals for use in communicating visual information in an Intelligence Community (IC) environment; AND
-Managing information design, communication and graphic design principles, using current versions of Adobe Creative Suite to develop print media and interactive web-based visuals; AND
-Demonstrated experience coordinating priorities, addressing customer concerns and managing the day to day operations of visual analysis/production/information design.

is one year (52 weeks) of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or equivalent, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Coordinating aspects of producing visual information for print and online uses, including the design, creation, and preparation of support visuals, infographics, charts, graphs, maps, process charts, illustrations, page layouts, and related content with minimal supervision; AND
- Coordinating the preparation and use of various kinds of visuals for use in communicating information; AND
-Applying information design and graphic design principles, using current versions of Adobe applications to create print media visuals and interactive web-based visuals; AND
-Providing guidance, advice and recommendations to end users on visual information services.
