Responsibilities

As a Training Programs Lead Coach, you are accountable for and oversee all store training programs by motivating, encouraging and always providing a safe atmosphere for all participants. You will be responsible for implementing training programs, overseeing the scheduling of all runs and workouts. This position is comfortable speaking in front of large crowds of people, is friendly and outgoing, and promotes positive social experiences for all participants. This position will partner with the Marketing team to promote new products to participants. The Lead Coach will secure training venues, communicate to participants on a weekly basis and be comfortable managing athletes, coaches and volunteers. 

  • Utilize training program system to create workouts and provide assistance to participants 
  • Facilitate and lead participants during workouts
  • Check path/route conditions when safety and resources are questionable
  • Communicate weekly to participants regarding training announcements, training session details, and routes 
  • Answer participant emails within 24 hours
  • Distribute apparel as appropriate to participants
  • Liaise with Fleet Feet staff to answer participant questions on training gear and essential
  • Promotes individual and team performance by setting expectations, and delegating tasks
  • Deliver a great social experience for participants by fostering a positive and safe atmosphere
  • Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities and functions 
  • Position reports directly to market Operating Partner

Qualifications

  • Coaching or personal training experience with private clients or groups
  • RRCA, ISSA, USATF, or similar certification preferred
  • Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certification preferred
  • Experience creating training plans for various distances (5K-Marathon) 
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Outgoing, positive, encouraging and supportive
  • Collaborative, accountable, and adaptable
  • Enthusiastic about helping athletes achieve their goals
  • Willing to go above and beyond when needed
  • Able to communicate professionally with participants and coworkers

Additional Requirements:  Position requires occasional moving around with light (1-10lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling.  The position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office equipment, etc.  The position is mostly sedentary and requires the employee to have close visual acuity to perform job requirements.  The position requires frequent communication with team members and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and/or fingers while constantly utilizing a computer. This position is located within an office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
