Overview
A fast-growing and acquisitive global public company is looking for a strong, experienced, and technically sound Tax Manager who is ready to help manage the Company’s overall tax function. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Tax, this role has a very high degree of exposure to the complexities of a multinational corporation.
The Tax Manager will assist in managing all areas of taxation. Areas of responsibility for this role will include income tax provision and financial statement disclosures, U.S. and international tax compliance, transfer pricing, global tax planning, SOX compliance and the development of internal staff as required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and review of the Company’s quarterly and annual tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures in accordance with ASC 740.
- Assist in preparation and review of federal, state and international income tax return filings, which includes coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.
- Work with internal cross functional teams and external tax advisors to document, prepare, implement and monitor transfer pricing policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing global tax planning strategies, including analytical work and modeling related to mergers and acquisitions, valuations, effective tax rate calculations and internal forecasts.
- Assist in performing and documenting internal controls to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance.
- Assist in resolving tax audits and notices issued by tax authorities.
- Assist in supporting U.S. and international indirect tax filings.
- Research tax issues and draft memorandum to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws.
- Monitor and assess changes in U.S. and international tax law.
- Assist in improving, maintaining and developing all tax related processes.
- Manage and assist outside consultants for various projects as needed.
- Act as a resource to other functional departments of the Company seeking tax advice.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 6+ years of directly related tax experience in a public accounting and/or publicly traded multinational corporate environment.
- Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate/present in a clear and effective manner across all levels of the Company.
- Demonstrates the ability to be hands-on and the willingness to accept challenging projects in and outside of tax.
- Able to effectively handle and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks.
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships across the organization.
