Position Information

Locations: Orange, CT; Portland, ME; Augusta, ME; Binghamton, NY; or Rochester, NY

Salary Range: $111,500 - $153,300, depending on experience and location.

Schedule: Office - On Site

Job Summary

With general direction, this role is responsible for leading our dynamic team of software developers. The ideal Candidate will be highly skilled and motivated, have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation in software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of internal software developers and contractors, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Provide technical direction and support to the development team, including code reviews, design discussions, and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, team Manager and Director as well as product owners, QA, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
  • Identify and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of the development process.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and drive the adoption of new tools and methodologies to improve development practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' of experience in software development, with supervisory or leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Scrum agile software development methodology
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, REACT, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
  • Analysis and design of object-oriented solutions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Experience with software and application design and architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency with .NET Core, REST API, JSX, JSON, Typescript, Javascript and CSS, Entity Framework Core (LINQ), Windows web server management, IIS and LDAP.
  • PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and Oracle databases.
  • Version control using GitHub.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • JIRA project management.
  • Experience with Python
