Software Engineers perform development work across the technology stack (both front-end/back-end expertise). They are versatile in how they can add value, demonstrating the ability to manage the completion of projects that involve databases, backend services, or the development of front-end applications. They should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of emerging technologies to support the development of new solutions. Software Engineers understand the full technology stack and underlying applications, services, and databases in order to ensure optimal performance.
Costco is seeking a dedicated and experienced Software Engineer to join our IT Financial Accounting iSeries team. The individual in this role will be responsible for technical oversight, analysis, development, and support of our financial applications on iSeries and integration with dependent systems. The Software Engineer will also coordinate, mentor, collaborate, perform compliance audits, and potentially lead others on development and delivery of solutions following Costco’s change management policies, procedures, and SDLC.

ROLE
● Analyzes and develops iSeries code that supports our Corporate and Warehouse Financial applications.
● Creates functional specifications for applications supported using our standard practices, processes, and procedures.
● Performs code reviews, unit testing; coordinates with team members on development and QA tasks.
● Adheres to IT division development standards and deployment processes and procedures.
● Collaborates with Product Owner, business area, team members, and QA to ensure requirements are clearly defined, understood, and documented.
● Participates in development estimation, deployment, and release planning to ensure delivery of solutions.
● Delivers artifacts and application solutions on agreed upon delivery dates.
● Owns 2nd level support resolution of daily incident tickets; creation of KB articles for 1st level support.
● Performs SOX audit testing and evidence collection.
● Continues personal growth in areas of technology, business knowledge, and Costco policies.
REQUIRED
● 5 years’ functional and technical design experience.
● 5 years’ programming experience with RPGLE, SQL, and CL on iSeries (AS/400).
● 3 years’ experience of Accounting practices or supporting financial applications.
● Experience with iSeries DB2/400.
● Experience designing, developing, and maintaining real-time large-scale business applications.
● Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies.
● Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests.
● Able to support off-hours work as required, including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on call responsibilities on a rotational basis.
Recommended
● Familiarity with SAP FICO Application capabilities and integration.
● Familiarity with integration tools, such as IBM Websphere Broker, SAP PI/PO, Informatica ETL, Axway, and UC4.
● Good understanding of Agile development practices and methodologies.
● Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.

Pay Ranges:
Level 3 - $130,000 - $160,000
Level Sr - $150,000 - $190,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
