Position Summary

The SkillSpring – Kentucky Program Director, Clinical Nurse Educator will be responsible for developing and launching SkillSpring-Kentucky, a comprehensive career development program with a focus on training and placing young adults as State Registered Nursing Aides in skilled nursing facilities and other organizations serving older adults with local health care sector employers. This role encompasses program leadership, customer service, business development, clinical education, and partnership management to ensure the program's success and alignment with organizational goals.

The Director will oversee key relationships with strategic partners, educational institutions, and community organizations including working with program partners to implement the SkillSpring model and curriculum, recruit and training “best-fit” youth participants, and place and retain program graduates into SRNA positions as well as manage budgetary expenses and performance outcomes.  The role requires a dynamic leader committed to fostering intergenerational collaboration, driving trainee success, ensuring a high level of professionalism and engagement across program operations, and meeting employer staffing and retention needs.

Responsibilities

·         Lead SkillSpring program replication and implementation efforts with local community training and employer partners.

·         Manage customer service activities and business development and engagement with Kentucky skilled nursing and other healthcare facilities.

·         Manage program outcomes, data tracking, and reporting.

·         Represent SkillSpring-Kentucky at internal meetings, including meetings at health care facilities.

·         Develop and maintain relationships with key local partners in education, career development, and youth development fields.

·         Ensure program alignment with best practices in intergenerational and workforce programming.

·         Work with work force, training partners and staff to train, coach and support team members implementing SkillSpring to ensure align with the SkillSpring model and program goals and outcomes are achieved.

·         Work with workforce partners and staff to manage recruitment training, case management/support services, and retention of trainees in alignment with employer hiring specifications.

·         Work with   workforce and SRNA training partners and staff to facilitate professional development, clinical skills training, healthcare career exploration curricula and exam test preparation.

·         Work with partners to manage data collection, training completion, placement, retention and other data tracking needed to monitor program success and continuous improvement.  Collaborate with employers and workforce partners to develop and implement retention strategies for SkillSpring hires.

·         Collaborate with the New Jewish Home Senior Director, Director of Finance, and Development on budget management and fundraising.

·         Participate in staff training sessions and special events.

·         Perform clerical tasks related to program administration as needed.

·         Work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and Saturdays across multiple sites.

Contract Term:

The contract term length is 12 Months with the potential for an extension.

Qualifications

  • A valid Kentucky state license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in Kentucky State; and
  • Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); and
  • A Degree in Nursing (RN or LPN), or a related nursing or education field, from an accredited college or university; and
  • Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse in specialty area(s), including one (1) year providing nursing education and training in specialty area(s); or
  • Holds a valid and current certification as a Nurse Educator.
  • Five (5) years’ relevant work experience
  • Three (3) years’ experience hiring and managing healthcare workers.
  • Proven experience in program management, curriculum development, and workforce training.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with a focus on inter-division collaboration.
  • Expertise in building partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of workforce programming, youth development, and healthcare training.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to train others in technology use.
  • Commitment to creating a diverse and culturally sensitive environment.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and business development abilities.
  • Budget management skills
